Privacy at a glance

  • We collect only information reasonably needed to operate the website, process orders, deliver equipment, provide support and improve our services.
  • We do not sell or rent personal information.
  • We do not store complete payment-card numbers on our website. Payments are processed by authorized payment providers.
  • Our first-party activity tool does not record keystrokes, form contents, cursor movement, screen recordings, complete IP addresses or precise location. It uses a random anonymous browser identifier and an approximate city, region and country to help us understand return visits and regional interest.
  • You may request access to or correction of your personal information and may withdraw consent where the law allows.
  • Questions and privacy requests may be sent to info@wildfireequipment.ca.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

  • Contact and identity information: name, billing and shipping address, email address and telephone number.
  • Order and transaction information: products, quantities, prices, discounts, taxes, shipping selections, order status, payment status, returns, warranties and related correspondence.
  • Payment information: payment-provider transaction identifiers, payment status and limited card details such as brand and last four digits. Complete payment-card numbers are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by Wildfire Equipment.
  • Account information: username, account preferences, order history and a securely protected password credential.
  • Customer-service information: messages, photographs, product questions, compatibility information, warranty details and return requests you choose to provide.
  • Quote and planning information: email address and the pump, hose, elevation, water-source, sprinkler and system-layout information entered into our quote, pressure-planning and System Designer tools.
  • Shipping and address information: delivery instructions, carrier tracking details and address-verification results.
  • Website and device information: public pages viewed, page titles, approximate device type, browser language and timezone, referral hostname, session timing, selected interactions, a random anonymous browser identifier, approximate city, region and country inferred from ordinary network connection data, IP address in ordinary web-server and security logs, browser type and diagnostic information.
  • Optional location information: if you press “Use my location” and grant browser permission, coordinates supplied by your device may be used to display local weather, alerts and wildfire information. The website does not request location permission until you choose that feature.
  • Information from other sources: updated delivery or tracking information from carriers, payment status from payment processors and fraud or security signals from service providers.

Please do not submit information that is not needed for your order, quote or support request.

3. How we collect information

We collect information:

  • directly from you when you place an order, create an account, request a quote, use an interactive planning tool, contact us or request support;
  • automatically through necessary cookies, server logs and our limited first-party activity tool; and
  • from service providers involved in payments, address verification, shipping, email delivery, security and website operation.

4. Why we use personal information

We use personal information for reasonable business purposes, including to:

  • provide products, quotes, system reports and requested services;
  • process payments, taxes, refunds, returns and warranties;
  • verify addresses, arrange delivery and provide tracking;
  • create and maintain customer accounts;
  • respond to questions and provide technical or customer support;
  • save or send a system-design report when requested;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, spam and security incidents;
  • operate, troubleshoot, measure and improve the website;
  • maintain business, tax, warranty and transaction records;
  • comply with legal, regulatory and insurance requirements; and
  • send marketing messages only where permitted by law and by your communication choices.

We will not use personal information for a new purpose that is materially different from the purpose identified at collection unless we obtain any consent required by law.

5. Consent and your choices

By providing information for an order, quote, account or support request, you consent to its collection, use and disclosure for those purposes. In some circumstances the law permits or requires us to handle information without consent.

You may withdraw consent to an optional use by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. Withdrawing consent may prevent us from providing a feature or service that requires the information.

You may:

  • decline optional browser-location permission;
  • configure your browser to block or delete cookies, although essential shopping-cart and account functions may then stop working;
  • use Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, which our first-party activity tool respects; and
  • unsubscribe from promotional email using the unsubscribe option in the message or by contacting us. Transactional order and service messages will still be sent when required.

6. Payments

Online payments are processed by third-party payment providers, such as Stripe. Payment providers collect and process payment-card and fraud-prevention information under their own privacy terms and security obligations. Wildfire Equipment receives transaction confirmation and limited payment details needed to manage the order, but does not receive or store your complete card number.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

The site uses cookies and similar local-storage technologies that are necessary to:

  • maintain the shopping cart and checkout session;
  • keep a customer or administrator signed in;
  • remember preferences and security settings;
  • prevent fraud and protect the website; and
  • improve performance and deliver cached content.

Some embedded content or services may set their own cookies when loaded. Your browser controls can be used to remove or restrict cookies. Essential cookies cannot always be disabled without affecting the service you requested.

We do not use the first-party live-activity tool for cross-site advertising or to build advertising profiles.

8. Anonymous live website activity

We use a lightweight first-party activity tool to understand which public pages are useful, how anonymous visitors move through the site and whether an anonymous browser returns. It records public page paths and titles, approximate device type, approximate city, region and country, browser timezone and language, referral hostname, page-view timing and selected actions such as viewing products, selecting “Add to cart,” beginning checkout or opening a system report.

The tool does not record cursor movement, screen contents, keystrokes, form entries, complete IP addresses or precise location. Checkout forms, customer-account pages and administration pages are excluded. The order-confirmation page sends only one anonymous completion signal; it does not send an order number, cart contents, email address, payment details or customer information. Logged-in administrator visits and browsers sending Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals are not collected.

A random session identifier connects page views during one visit. A separate random first-party browser identifier helps distinguish return visits; the server stores it only as a one-way pseudonymous key. Clearing site data resets the browser identifier. Detailed anonymous activity records are automatically deleted after 13 months. Summary totals that no longer identify an individual session may be retained for business analysis.

9. When we share information

We disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • payment processors and fraud-prevention providers;
  • shipping carriers, customs brokers and delivery partners;
  • address-verification providers;
  • website hosting, ecommerce, database, backup, security and performance providers;
  • email delivery and customer-communication providers;
  • professional advisers, insurers, accountants or authorities where required for legitimate business or legal purposes;
  • comply with a subpoena, court order, law or lawful government request; or
  • complete a business transaction such as a sale or reorganization, subject to appropriate confidentiality and legal requirements.

These providers may use personal information only for the services they provide or as otherwise permitted by law. We do not sell or rent customer information.

10. Information processed outside Canada

Some service providers may process or store information in the United States or another country. Information in another jurisdiction may be accessible to courts, law-enforcement or national-security authorities under that jurisdiction’s laws. We select providers and use reasonable contractual, administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and service.

11. How long we retain information

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy and to meet legal, accounting, tax, warranty, fraud-prevention and dispute-resolution obligations.

Retention periods depend on the record. For example:

  • order, payment, tax and business records are generally retained for the period required by Canadian law;
  • account information is retained while the account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward;
  • quote, support and warranty records are retained as needed to provide service and maintain an appropriate business record;
  • security logs are retained for a limited period appropriate to detecting and investigating threats; and
  • detailed first-party activity records are deleted after 13 months.

When information is no longer needed, we securely delete, destroy or anonymize it, subject to backup cycles and legal holds.

12. Security safeguards

We use reasonable physical, administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. These include encrypted connections, access controls, limited administrative access, security monitoring, software maintenance and protected payment processing.

No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. If a privacy or security incident occurs, we will investigate and provide any notification required by applicable law.

13. Access, correction and privacy requests

Subject to limited exceptions under applicable law, you may request:

  • access to personal information Wildfire Equipment holds about you;
  • information about how it has been used and disclosed;
  • correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information; or
  • withdrawal of consent for an optional use.

Send a written request to info@wildfireequipment.ca with enough detail to identify the information. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain any permitted refusal or extension.

You may also update certain account information through the My Account area. A request to delete information may be limited where we must retain records for legal, tax, payment, warranty, fraud-prevention or dispute purposes.

14. Children’s privacy

The website and its products are intended for adults and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without legally valid consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

15. Third-party websites and official information services

The site links to or displays information from third parties, including carriers, manufacturers, payment providers and government wildfire or weather services. Their websites and services are governed by their own privacy policies. Opening an external link may allow that provider to receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address and browser details.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices, service providers or legal obligations change. The current version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where appropriate or required by law.
