Wildfire protection, built from firsthand experience.
Wildfire Equipment creates practical structure protection equipment for homeowners, community groups and professional crews—including the patented Water Winger no-ladder rooftop wildfire sprinkler.
A safer way to reach the roof peak
The idea began as wildfire smoke and ash moved toward inventor Bryan Coffey’s cedar log home. Repeatedly climbing a long ladder onto a steep metal roof to place garden sprinklers made one thing clear: homeowners needed a safer, faster way to position sprinklers on the roof peak.
That urgent problem became the Water Winger—a no-ladder rooftop sprinkler designed to help create a wet zone where homes are most exposed to wind-driven embers.

Developed with the people who use it
Years of prototyping, testing and refinement shaped a system made for real wildfire structure protection needs.
Field-informed
Feedback from wildfire-experienced homeowners, engineers and firefighters guided the design.
Purpose-built
The no-ladder system helps place a rooftop sprinkler without climbing onto a steep roof.
Made in Canada
Water Winger equipment is proudly manufactured by Wildfire Equipment in Salmon Arm, BC.
High-end equipment. Knowledgeable support.
As wildfire seasons evolve, we continue to improve our equipment and expand production. From rooftop and ground sprinklers to hose, valves, fittings and complete structure protection packages, our goal is simple: help customers build effective systems around the water supply available.
Built with valuable field guidance
We gratefully acknowledge Jake Jacobson and the Columbia Shuswap Regional District Structure Protection Crews for their guidance, feedback and early prototype testing.
